Professional Development & Recognition
Summary of Professional Development
As a researcher and practitioner, it is essential to remain current and abreast of all trends and legal changes in the field of education. Legislative mandates require all university field supervisors who oversee practicum and internship students to receive newly developed “Field Supervisor Coaching Training”. In order for me to be qualified to deliver this training, I had to personally obtain Advancing Educational Leadership Certification, Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS) Certification, Texas Principal Evaluation Support System (T-PESS) Certification, and Field Supervisor Coaching Training. Annual renewal is required to remain certified as a Trainer of Trainer for these courses. While this training was intense, it allowed me the opportunity to deliver the required professional development to all field supervisors in the College of Education and Human Services.
Participation in the online ACUE course designed to improve and enhance online course delivery was instrumental in many course updates and changes. As a lifelong learning, I find myself continuously seeking ways to improve my teaching craft. I found the ACUE course to be advantageous in improving my methods for online course delivery. I completed this course during the 2020-2021 school year. Beginning Spring 2023, I have been asked to serve as a facilitator of the online ACUE Course.
Attendance of state and national conferences also affords me the opportunity to continuously grow as an educational leader. As an educator, I crave the opportunities for personal and professional growth. The knowledge gained from attendance of these conferences is embedded into all courses taught and in the delivery of professional development sessions as appropriate. Newest appointments include Fall 2021, National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity (NCFDD) and election to Graduate Council as a representative for the College of Education and Human Services. I am grateful for the many opportunities to attend conference sessions, state trainings, and various educational workshops.
